Kojiki Japanese Whisky is a unique and approachable Japanese blended whisky inspired by the Kojiki — “Records of Ancient Matters,” Japan’s oldest chronicle of myths and legends dating back to the 8th century — which reflects the heritage and tradition behind the brand’s style. Distilled near Kyoto in the Kansai region along the shores of Lake Biwa, this whisky is made from an unusual grain blend of 40% barley (including a small peated component), 30% wheat, and 30% corn. The spirit is twice distilled in traditional pot stills, then aged for three years in ex‑bourbon barrels before being finished in Sauternes wine barrels (3 months) and Champagne wine casks (4 months) — a multi‑stage maturation that adds extra complexity, soft fruit character, and subtle sweetness.
