Old Forester 1870 Original Batch is the first expression in the official Old Forester Whiskey Row Series, created as a tribute to the year founder George Garvin Brown established Old Forester on Louisville’s Whiskey Row.
To recreate Brown’s historic batching approach, Old Forester selects barrels from three warehouses, with each barrel coming from a different production day and featuring different entry proofs and age profiles. The resulting whiskies are batched together and minimally filtered. It is bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV).
