Izadi Larrosa Negra is a 100% Garnacha Tinta red from Bodegas Izadi in DOCa Rioja, Spain. Described by the winery as an “ode to Garnacha,” it completes the Larrosa trilogy alongside Larrosa Rosé and Larrosa Blanca. The fruit comes from selected old Garnacha vineyards planted around 1975 on stony soils, giving the wine a fresh yet structured expression of the variety.
The grapes are hand harvested and fermented in stainless steel, followed by six months of aging in French and American oak barrels. This relatively short élevage preserves Garnacha’s bright fruit while adding spice and cocoa nuances, resulting in a velvety, approachable Rioja with fresh red fruit, floral notes and a long finish.
