AlevA is a 100% Tempranillo from D.O. Ribera del Duero, created by winemaker Eva Fernández Rivera as the continuation of the winemaking legacy she shared with her father, Alejandro Fernández. The name AlevA combines Alejandro and Eva, reflecting the father-and-daughter project behind the wine. The estate vineyard lies in San Martín de Rubiales, Burgos, at approximately 900 meters (2,950 feet) above sea level.
The Tempranillo grows in clay-limestone soils with high calcium carbonate content and is harvested by hand. After cold maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel, the free-run wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrel before extended maturation in American oak. The result combines ripe red and black fruit with spice, vanilla and mineral nuances over a structured palate with silky tannins and a long, polished finish.
