Don Melchor 2022 is an iconic Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon-based red wine from the D.O. Puente Alto in the Alto Maipo Valley. Crafted by winemaker Enrique Tirado, the 2022 vintage blends 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot.
The wine is aged for 15 months in French oak barrels—72% new and 28% second-use—and bottled at 15% ABV. Don Melchor describes the 2022 vintage as intensely expressive, with red fruit, floral notes, blackcurrant and blackberry, followed by tremendous concentration, fine texture and a long, balanced finish.
