Krug Grande Cuvée 170ème Édition is the 170th recreation of founder Joseph Krug’s vision to offer an exceptionally generous expression of Champagne every year, regardless of vintage variation. Composed around the 2014 harvest, this multi-vintage Champagne brings together an extraordinary 195 individual wines from 12 different years, with the oldest wine dating to 1998 and the youngest to 2014.
The final blend is 51% Pinot Noir, 38% Chardonnay, and 11% Meunier, with reserve wines representing 45% of the assemblage. The 750ml release spent approximately seven years in Krug’s cellars, developing layers of flowers, ripe and dried fruits, citrus, marzipan, gingerbread, hazelnut, nougat, brioche, and honey while maintaining the freshness and fine bubbles characteristic of Grande Cuvée.
