Massolino Barolo DOCG is the historic classic Barolo from Massolino, the family estate based in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont. First produced in 1947, this 100% Nebbiolo represents a synthesis of multiple vineyard sites and the traditional style of the estate, combining the structure and longevity associated with Serralunga with floral, fruit and spice complexity.
Massolino follows a traditional approach with long fermentation and maceration in oak fermenters at approximately 30°C, followed by aging for up to 30 months in large Slavonian oak casks and additional bottle maturation in the estate’s cellars. The large-format oak is deliberately chosen to preserve Nebbiolo’s purity and terroir rather than impart pronounced oak flavors.
