Tenuta Alzatura Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG is the flagship expression of Tenuta Alzatura, the Cecchi family’s estate in Montefalco, Umbria. Produced exclusively from 100% Sagrantino, it captures the intensity, structure and aging potential for which this indigenous Umbrian variety is known. The estate works three vineyard areas—Monterone, San Marco and Alzatura—within the Montefalco territory.
The wine undergoes traditional temperature-controlled fermentation with skin contact before maturation in French-oak barriques. The 2020 release spent 16 months in French oak and is 15.5% ABV, delivering a concentrated profile of blackberry, plum, vanilla, leather and coffee backed by Sagrantino’s characteristic structure and tannins.
